Philadelphia Service Trip

To many, Black Friday is a great day of shopping for deals. For youth at St. James, it is a great day to give back and serve.  Each year, 20 people gather at St. James on Black Friday and travel together to Philadelphia where they serve a full Thanksgiving Feast to homeless persons in the city.  This annual event is for students in grades 7 and up.

Small groups from St. James have also gone to Philadelphia on a Thursday night to assist in feeding the homeless with Mom Mobley at her regular outdoor location. While the Black Friday trip is quite the experience, feeding people outdoors is a completely different experience every time and in every season.  Want to make the trip?  Contact Mrs. Mobley in the church office for information.

2015 trip information: Please contact Mrs. Mobley in the church office to sign up for this event.  SPACE IS LIMITED.  We will meet at St. James on Friday, November 27 at 9:00am to carpool to Philadelphia.  All participants should pack a bag lunch, dress for the weather and bring money to stop for dinner on our way back.  We will return to St. James sometime after 8:00pm.
